My Journey
Every great solution starts with a personal challenge. This is mine.
The Dream
A few years ago, I moved to Amsterdam to study Economics and Business Economics. It was supposed to be an exciting new chapter — a chance to grow, learn, and build a future. But the reality was far different.
The Reality
I was in a brand-new city, thousands of miles from home, without a clue about local laws, navigation, or finding safe housing. I didn't know how to set up finances, who to trust, or even how to meet people.
The Struggle
Making friends was harder than I imagined. In a place where parties were the norm for socializing, I struggled. Loneliness crept in, and without a supportive community, my dream started to unravel. Within a year, I made the painful decision to return home.
The Realization
When I came back, I realized something important: countless students face the same overwhelming challenges. They want independence, to live off-campus and make the city their own, yet struggle with budgeting, finding trusted housing, and building real connections.
The Solution
That's why I created Engage: to make sure no student ever feels as lost and alone as I did. We're here to simplify finding a home, to make it safer, more transparent, and above all, to build a community where students can belong, thrive, and feel supported every step of the way.
